Interdevochka (Russian: Sovyet 1989 1989 )ччоннннннннн) 1989 Soviet-made drama film. In the 1980s, the film, which took place in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) during the period of Perestroika, was the first popular cultural work to depict prostitution in the USSR. The film was the most widely-watched Soviet film of the year 1989 (41.3 million) and made the female lead star Elena Yakovleva a star. Adapted from the story of the same name written by Vladimir Kunin.
